JTP’s Brazil recommendation is a good one, but American forumers beware:  The American ending was sanitised, seek out the orignal ending on DVD.
Terry Gilliam films are glorious and magical and darkly beautiful and I love the scruffy effects, way better than digital stuff.  It’s a wonderful world he creates, watch:#
Time Bandits / The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen / Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Incredible films.

i cant understand how they thought the edited version made it better. because it would have just made the whole film so confusing and it would have made mo sense. The only over film of his ive seen is fear and loathing in las vegas of his, but shall be tracking down more of his movies.

I just watched “The Girl In The Cafe” and thought it was good on a few points, more emotional, but for the subject it discussed, the Millenium Goals, it was rather weak. I liked the assertive female character who spoke her mind though.

I want to see that really bad....perhaps I should crash your place sometime. I’ll bring Y Tu Mama Tambien! (Not that I bought it or anything).

I think my dad and I are going to have a movie marathon on Sunday since my mom and brother left for India a couple days ago...any recommendations?

also i’ve set aside 2night after jonathan woss to watch blue velvet which i have had on my shelf for months, but i dunno i always find wtching davind lynch films quite daunting, but i think im ready, im sure ill be here later tonight saying how great it is.

Yup. Definetely the comedies. We’re obviously going to watch Father of the Bride, simply because that’s our life story put on film: the cheap dad who doesn’t like spending money on anything; the level-headed, calm mother; the daughter who feels the need to overreact about everything; and the son born 12 years later.

I just watched “Goal!” which is a wonderful football movie. I am not a big Newcastle fan but nevertheless, the storyline was nice. And it reminded me of how much I want my pending work experience with the BBC Radio Football. I swear that I don’t get it, they might as well come and rip my heart out because I love football and nothing else. Who else watches the Arsenal games twice in a row or stays up late to see the UEFA games. *sigh* I liked the movie, that’s what I wanted to say. I think I would like any football movie though.

Argh I h8u!! When I did hospital work, I did it with a urologist. Not only were the specimens (*shudder*) disturbing, but we also gave out Viagra. I once picked up a phonecall from a VERY old man who said “I just met this woman. And she is the window of my opportunity!”

I quit after working there for ohhhhh 2 months.
